Counselling Therapy, Counselling Therapy
I am committed to providing a safe space and meeting you where you are; working collaboratively with you, as a partner. I believe that you are the expert of your experiences and will highlight your strengths and the skills and tools that have been successful for you.
As a paramedic with military-related service and three decades of educational leadership experience, I use a trauma-informed, evidence-based, Person-Centered approach to make connections with your lived experiences and your nervous system, and an eclectic combination of interventions that resonate with you.
Together, we’ll help you name your distress, identify your triggers, and create strategies to move you toward change that you design, at a pace that is manageable for you.
Courage means moving forward despite fear and uncertainty. If you are ready to take the first steps, I am ready to walk beside you on your journey.
Our Origins
Mind Works Counselling Therapy was born from a personal passion for a holistic and patient-centered approach to wellness. I established a place where comprehensive care and compassion meet.
Working as a Paramedic in Nova Scotia's Central Region, I was convicted by the overwhelming need for emotional and psychological support of our communities and our First Responders. In response to what I saw, I made the decision to transition and pursue Counselling Psychology. I am now dual licensed as a Paramedic and a Registered Counselling Therapist Candidate. This means that while I practice as a counselling therapist, I have a supervisor/mentor to help me make sure that I offer you the best support possible.
